After Book 5, I tend to use conservatory repertoire such as technique books ( Sevcik, Hrimaly), Scale Books, Etudes, and concertos. When it comes to keeping my students interested, I try to find songs that my students are interested in learning. I tend to like the average guitar method book for it will usually consists of the fundamentals of music as well as left and righthand technique and also songs and pieces that are a part of the development process. I have been teaching for about 5 years, but have had incredible teaching oppurtunities in this small window of time. I often helped my college professor with her highschool students, andI had the oppurtunity to teach for a semester as an Adjunct at Central College in Pella, IA.
