I move at a very quick pace, but I have my students set their own goals. While I will select the literature for the student, I want them to feel successful when they are working with me. I want students to be confident and successful, so I will do anything in my power to help them learn good technique and practice habits. Noah W. recently earned a masters degree in classical guitar performance at the University of Cincinnati (CCM), where he served as a teachers assistant. He also holds a bachelors in classical guitar performance from UC and an associates degree in music from Sinclair Community College. Noah mainly plays classical guitar but also has experience performing rock and pop. For violin and viola lessons, I start my beginning students off with the violin/viola instrument hold as well as the bow hold. Once one has gotten the feel for holding the instrument as well as the bow, I teach the student the open strings of the instrument, followed by a one octave scale, with basic note reading exercises.
