I love teaching guitar to motivated students. I have been fortunate to play and teach guitar for a living my entire life, and it is still exciting to help students find their voice on guitar. After teaching guitar for the University of Tennessee for 10 years, I moved to Nashville where I was able to tour the world playing music for 12 years. Whether playing a festival for 50,000 people on the side of a volcano in Japan, overdubbing a guitar part for a national Toyota commercial, or helping someone tune their guitar for the very first time, it is still exciting. In middle school, I began performing and teaching music during the summers at Vacation Bible School for children ages 3-10. Throughout high school, as a member of a variety of bands, I performed at a wide array of venues around New England. During this time, I ventured into song writing and musical arrangement. I also spent some time giving private trombone, bass, and guitar lessons in high school. My teaching experience began in 2011. A friend of mine had bought a guitar and did not know a single thing about the instrument. he asked me if I could teach him how to play. After a few weeks of methods that I taught him and, exercises he was able to play the guitar without frustration. I always tell my students when they are starting out to give themselves at least 15 minutes a day to keep up on exercises to build up muscle memory. Read More

My teaching experience dates back to my earliest teenage years, when I convinced a local church (and my parents) in Cincinnati, Ohio, to let me teach privately in one of the church rooms. Soon afterwards, I landed a teaching job with Howard Early Music there, one of the more reputable music chains in that area. Noah W. recently earned a masters degree in classical guitar performance at the University of Cincinnati (CCM), where he served as a teachers assistant. He also holds a bachelors in classical guitar performance from UC and an associates degree in music from Sinclair Community College. Noah mainly plays classical guitar but also has experience performing rock and pop.  I implement materials of my own design mixed with songs of the students choosong and tastes, and typically have them up and playing a song or two that they like in a couple of lessons.  All ages, styles, and expereince levels are welcome. For reading,  I like to use a combination of notation, tabs and chord diagrams.  And while I dont absolutely insist that the student learn to read notation, I do strongly encourage it. Read More
