Instruments: Guitar Drums
I so enjoy when a student is passionate about music and learning their instrument. I try very hard to make learning their instrument fun. Yes I do let them know that Practice Makes Perfect but at the same time I let them know that I do understand that sometimes life gets busy. We will continue to learn, enjoy, and laugh as much as we can during lessons and stress practice but be compassionate to their situations . Read More

I began teaching guitar in high school to middle school students and continued teaching children and adults throughout college. While in music college, I grew to start to teaching bass guitar as well as drums. My teaching style is focused yet fun. Me and my students always have a good time through my curriculum of theory and how it relates to music they enjoy. Whether it’s finding music theory in Taylor Swift song, or learning the guitar neck through a Beatles solo, I always find a way to teach through interests that the students have rather than force a cookie cutter approach. I began giving private guitar instruction towards the end of my college studies, and after graduation taught group and private lessons at a music school. At that school I taught a vast range of ages, skill levels, and instruments, from 4 year old beginners, to teenage experts, to adults who needed a brush-up. I learned the wondrous potential of motivated students with supportive parents as well as the futility of forcing an instrument or a style on a student that actually wanted to explore something else. For young beginner students, I start teaching with Book 1 of Accent on Achievement, by John O'Reilly and Mark Williams. As we advance, we will move on to Book 2. I have selected this book because I believe it introduces musical concepts in an easy to understand way, and it uses a fundamental selection of traditional and classical pieces. For my students who can play at an intermediate level, I will use the Trevor Wye Practice Books for the Flute, Omnibus edition. Read More

For beginning students who are children, I typically start with Suzuki level books, String Explorer and Fiddletime joggers to increase sightreading and listening skills. Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire appropriate for their first recital performance. For adults, I try to find out what the student is interested in, and guide my instruction accordingly to keep the lessons engaging and fun, no matter their ability level. Read More
Instruments: Piano
Sharing how to make music is a passion of mine. I earned my Bachelor's in Piano Pedagogy, and, as of May 2016, my MM in Piano Pedagogy from Texas Christian University. For the last 5 years, I have taught piano private and group lessons of all ages. Both lesson types are beneficial for students, since each has his own learning style. Private lessons allow the student to interact one-on-one with his instructor, and group lessons provide peer interaction to aid learning. Read More
Instruments: Piano Harp
I am open, curious, and interested in learning what each student thinks. I love music and tell all students that music will be forever with them I am a very patient teacher during the piano lessons session and I am aware that students will sometimes struggle in certain areas of their learning of the instrument.I like to see the student smile when they leave my piano studio as well as when they come for their piano.
