I have recently learned bass guitar as well. I encourage students to practice at least 20-30 minutes a day because even that little amount of time makes all the difference. I also love to incorporate creativity in my lessons with songwriting and improvisation. I also encourage students to participate in recitals as well. I am also the Director of the Early Childhood Program at the local music school so I have a lot of experience with ages 0-4 too. Read More
Instruments: Piano Violin
I have been teaching piano, violin, and basic music for over ten years. I have worked at music schools as well as taught private lessons. I have a masters in music and have a big performing repertoire. I love new students - from beginner to advanced, and of all ages. I think you can learn a lot about people based on what type music they like, so I look forward to meeting you and helping you play the type of music you love. Read More

I have been teaching via a large retail chain and through my private studio for several years. Although this has worked out, I find the Retail operation to be a bit restrictive, especially for adults with limited time. I think the student benefits more by learning at a pace that is appropriate to their skill level. I currently teach students from kindergarten age though 70+ years. I teach guitar, bass, ukelele, and banjo. Read More
Instruments: Flute
As explained in my teaching style, every student is different and thus I adapt my approach depending on that. This being said, some of the books I use depending on level for flute students; for the beginning students "Trevor Wye - Beginner's Book for the Flute" for advanced to very advanced students the "Etudes Et Exercices Techniques pour la flute" By Marcel Moyse. All while going through a variety of flute repertoire that keeps the student inpired. Read More

I began teaching guitar in high school to middle school students and continued teaching children and adults throughout college. While in music college, I grew to start to teaching bass guitar as well as drums. My teaching style is focused yet fun. Me and my students always have a good time through my curriculum of theory and how it relates to music they enjoy. Whether it’s finding music theory in Taylor Swift song, or learning the guitar neck through a Beatles solo, I always find a way to teach through interests that the students have rather than force a cookie cutter approach. Instruments: Cello
More than anything else, I try to grow a love for the cello and music, because without a passion, lessons can be a drag (trust me, I know!). I try to incorporate some of the student's other interests into the lessons, ie. pop music, art, even science! I also place a lot of value on progressing at the student's own pace and understanding when a student doesn't really like a particular piece, not to spend too much time on it. Read More
Instruments: Guitar Drums
My teaching style relies heavily upon training the ear to dissect what it is hearing. Developing the ear is crucial to being a self-reliant musician. In drums, the visualization how a rhythm works in time is essential to being able to perform that rhythm. Dissection and mapping are the key to furthering one's abilities on the drum kit. In guitar or in piano, being able to isolate frequencies with your ear will lead you to a more accurate understanding for chord structures and progressions than simply looking up tabs, which are often deeply flawed.
