Typically, for a novice-piano/keyboard student, I began with one or two Hanon drills to strengthen the third and fourth fingers; as they are usually the weaker fingers in beginners. I ran away from my mother after seeing the Cellist play and went to talk to him. She found me an hour later in the Orchestra room playing with the instrument.
