I have been teaching young trumpeters since I began my undergraduate career four years ago. I have helped middle school and high school students advance in their own playing career. I love learning about how each student learns, and I've always challenged myself to plan accordingly. My students have been honored not only in their own band programs, but also in Georgia All State Band and DCI. Instruction methods are chosen according to the needs, abilities, and desires of the students. Instruction materials differ depending on the age of the student and the ability of the student. An emphasis on my part is exposing the student to material of the highest quality. This will often mean the exposure to some of the simpler classical pieces written by the great composers fairly early in their musical journey.
