Once I have an idea of what the student wants to accomplish it becomes easy to customize a plan for each student's development. If possible I will use any or all of these techniques. I have had a few students who stayed with me for many years (not all of these students possessed "natural" ability). I strive to inspire my students with the passion for playing and the act of making music, rather than the goals of perfection or winning a competition. My goal is to give my students the ability to self assess. They should be able to feel when they are singing correctly, without me always pointing it out. They learn these skills through scales, basic anatomy and physiology, physical exercises, visualization etc. I am kind, patient, supportive, and always do my best to uplift my students. I like to teach at your pace. If you want me to teach you songs, we can learn tabs and chords. Also, I can teach fundamental music theory which includes things like scales so you can solo on your guitar in certain keys of the song. The theory will also tell you which chords you can play, so if someone says play in G minor, you know what notes are the right ones to play. Read More
