I'm fluent in many different styles including punk/pop punk, hard rock, alternative rock, jazz, funk, trap, bubblegum pop, hyperpop, classic rock, and grunge. I have played in various bands over the years and have played some pretty large venues such as The Chance Theater in Poughkeepsie. I began teaching when I was in High School, where I had several students of varying ages and skill levels.  I taught private lessons in their homes.  I encourage regular practice, and weekly lessons.  A mixture of method books and my own personal written lessons I have found to be the most effective teaching strategy. Books with a variety of popular solos I also utilize.  Method books are necessary for skill, but can get boring and repetitive for younger students.  Keeping things fresh and interesting is my main focus in teaching. For students I ask that you have printed lyrics and instrumentals for our lessons. Microphones can be used in lessons as well. Equipment*** - Large mirror (for practicing in front of)- microphone – sound system to play instrumentals. I specifically love working on stage presence, I feel this area tends to be overlooked. Not everyone learns in the same manner. My lessons include theory, technique, solo repertoire, ear training and performance preparation. Performance is an art form and takes preparation and practice.
