I have been a private music teacher for 13 years and an elementary music teacher for 4 years. In that time I developed a skill set specifically designed to help students reach their goals. I've always been a passionate and curious musician, ever since I picked up a flute in fourth grade. I have been dedicated to both flute and percussion ever since then, and continue to learn and play at Sarah Lawrence College. I am currently focusing on playing in pit bands for musicals, as they are my favorite performance setting. What Books and Methods I use depend on whether the student has a particular style in mind from the beginning of their studies. I will often use the Frederick Noad series of Books with students who know they want to study Classical Guitar and then progress to repertoire when the time seems right. If they aren't sure of what direction they want to go in I will use the Hal Leonard or Mel Bay Books to get them started, and when I start to see what direction they want to go in I will begin introducing different songs and repertoire to see what direction they seem to be headed towards. I am currently attending the Hartt School at University of Hartford pursuing my masters in piano pedagogy. I have been teaching piano for the past three years and absolutely love working with students of all ages and levels. I have had the opportunity to perform multiple times with the University of Central Florida orchestra, as well as in solo, chamber and New Music Ensemble settings.
