I'm a caring, straight-forward and passionate instructor who believes anyone can achieve greatness when it comes to music. I graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Music in Trumpet Performance. I received my Master's Degree in Trumpet Performance from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. I have performed in many countries including Germany, Italy, The Netherlands, Czech Republic, Austria, China, Taiwan and Japan in venues such as the Kennedy Center, the Royal Concertgebouw in Amsterdam and the Berlin Philharmonie. I started playing the flute in 2010, and the piccolo a little bit after that. In 2013 I started performing through international competitions, and received my diploma in musical performance through ABRSM in 2016, certifying me to teach. I recently graduated from Princeton University and performed while there in orchestra and pit orchestra groups. I grew up in Singapore and really enjoyed performing at venues like the National Gallery while there, and also was honored to perform at Weill Recital Hall in Carnegie Hall in NYC in 2016. Read More

The skill level of my students range from Beginner to Intermediate. For Piano Students: My beginner students start with the Bastien Piano Basic Method Books. I assess what book level is necessary during our first lesson. Other beginner material I use are: Alfred's Basic Piano Library Lesson Books, Older Beginner Piano Course (For Adult Beginner Students), and Piano Adventures series. I begin teaching from piano books published by Alfred. I also have the student learn their scales as well as give a weekly written music theory assignment. I incorporate styles and songs the student enjoys listening to or playing as well. I like to teach classical music. With this foundation, ALL other music is much easier to play, and helps tremendously with their sight reading skills. Performance recitals are recommended, but not required. Read More

For 12 years I performed with the National Tango Orchestra of Buenos Aires (Latin Grammy 2015). Now I’m collaborating and performing with major Tango Maestros in concerts, festivals, tours and recordings as well as in chamber music settings and I'm working on my major pedagogy project called "The Inner Musician"('18 MC Award). For beginner students who are pursing music on the tonal instruments, I typically start with learning the names of the notes on the instrument and the major scale in every key as it relates to the piano. For the bass guitar I start of with basic finger strength techniques and exercises while incorporating the major scale fingering form and Nashville numbering system for all tonal instruments. For voice, I start off by finding the range of the individual and then teaching warmup techniques while building the individuals technique through finding a song and learning how to sing along.  Read More
