I am an encouraging teacher, but I help my students set realistic goals (and stretch goals!) that keep them motivated to progress in their musicianship. How our lessons progress really depends on the student in question. If they would like to pursue competitions, I am well equipped to help. My love of music grew as a child having a family supportive of music education. I see the participation in playing musical instruments as much of a fun activity as it is a physical and mental workout. Beginners are always fun to teach Kids are like sponges they just absorb everything you can think of and they will always give me a sense that Im doing something they can enjoy for their whole life. Adults can be somewhat of a challenge especially if they never played an instrument while growing up but if theyre willing to put the time and effort in it can become a very fulfilling and nice hobby.
