I see the participation in playing musical instruments as much of a fun activity as it is a physical and mental workout. After receiving my Associate in Science in Music I went straight into a studio and started teaching a range of students from 4 - 24 years old, and from the never-picked-up-an-instrument-before to I-can't-wait-for-the-competition levels. Also-when I teach the beginning student-it is great to see how that student develops his/her playing over the days/weeks/months. For children, I will continue through the method book series while supplementing it with short popular pieces that may be of interest to the student.
