Cornell M

Instruments: Trombone

As stress free as possible allowing the student to progress at their own but steady pace. To set realistic goals based on their own ability in addition to the time they have to devote to the trombone. I may occasionally talk about other interest the student may outside of music such as football, baseball, tennis ect. to keep the setting relaxed and comfortable. When students show effort I stay positive and give encouragement. Read More

Instruments: Piano Drums

Since every student has different goals I like to plan my lessons accordingly. I found it very useful to devide the lesson into 3 parts : Technique, reading and drumset studies. Whether the student is excited about rock, pop, jazz, hiphop or samba, this method creates a solid foundation for the drummer's ultimate goal - to groove on the drumset! To make the lesson even more fun and interactive, I love to work on playing along with recordings which give the student the feel of playing with his favorite band! Read More

Instruments: Trumpet Bass Guitar Double Bass

I'm a professional musician who loves sharing with people my love of music. In 2018, I graduated from Berklee College of Music with a Bachelor Degree honored Cum Laude in Music Performance. I played a lot in Europe and United States and I'd love to share my experiences with my student to let them grow as musicians. I had the pleasure to study with great musicians and mentors as Tiger Okoshi, Lin Biviano, Andrea Tofanelli, James Genus, John Lockwood, Neal Smith and many others; plus occasionally lessons with John Patitucci, John Clayton, Victor Wooten and masterclass with Ron Carter, Rufus Reed, Christian McBride and many others. Instruments: Violin

When I was two years old, I saw a young girl play the violin in a concert. I was so inspired that I begged my parents to let me begin violin lessons. Finally, at five years old, I stood proudly with my tiny violin and have not put it down since. Playing the violin has taken me around the world for various performances, music festivals, and teaching workshops. I have performed as a soloist with the New York Concerti Sinfonietta in Carnegie Hall, traveled to three different continents for music festival concerts, and co-founded the Heartbeat Project and the Joining Hands Project. Instruments: Drums

I learned a lot from the dozens of teachers I took private lesons with growing up. In 2010 I was a counselor for a music camp in Upstate New York. I worked with young kids and helped teach them pop/classic songs. I've had a Diaspora class in college on teaching drumset to beginngers. I learned quite a lot from that class- specifically teaching new beginners to drums.  Since February 2016 I've been teaching drums to a handful of students through Musika. Read More

Instruments: Clarinet

I am currently the music director at the Nord Anglia International School of NY. I have taught a wide range of ages of students that come from very diverse backgrounds. The best feeling in the world for me is when a student realizes that anything is possible. The look in a student's eyes when they can finally play something that have been working on? I wouldn't trade it for the world. Read More

Instruments: Piano Voice Music Keyboard

Choosing appropriate repertoire that appeals to the students and helps to address technical deficiencies, as well as showcases their natural gifts, is of utmost importance. Highest on my list of teaching goals is to create a highly inclusive learning environment, where students with a range of abilities, across intersecting social identities, feel at home in the space. To sing powerfully and technically well, from the heart and spirit, requires incredible vulnerability, and I am mindful of the different learning styles and range of vocal abilities. Read More
