I believe that students thrive in learning environments that are individualized, so I tend to use a combination of custom lesson plans and materials. My curriculum includes performance studies books, ear training, sight-reading exercises, proper technique, improvisation skills, and songbooks from a variety of genres, all of which Ive found to be incredibly helpful in my personal music education. I am all about making sure that my students are receiving enthusiasm and inspiration. I think the best way is to customize every lesson to each student and their learning style. I like to create lesson plans/practice schedules so that my student and I can keep track of growth and accomplishing goals. I will help the student in whatever way I can to achieve their musical goals. I make myself available for any student. Read More

Keeping the joy of making music when we practice is essential for steady progress. When possible, I will combine the giving assignments focusing on various topics (i.e.: theory/reading skills, ear training, technique, repertoire, improvisation...). I like to work on repertoire because that is where you find examples that later on will appear on-stage, what I call "real musician life experiences." I consider myself a lifelong student so it is a great joy to me learning when I teach. Read More

I am confident I can present high expectations to your students through experiences they would find exciting and empowering. I strongly believe that while only some students continue performing music as adults, for the majority an experience in a music program is an enlightening introduction to the love of learning. I consider it an honor to share the love of learning I have for music, knowing it is a model that will continue to inspire students to seek their own goals and learning with passion. Read More

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE My teaching experience started in 2007 with teaching young kids from our youth meeting in church. Now I am teaching in my home studio in Belleville, NJ since 2016. With more than 10 years experience, I love working with new students of all ages. I use a curriculum developed by Mrs, Irina Gorin which specialize in kids from 4-6 years. Her method is based on involving both the students and the parents in the piano learning experience. Read More

I try to custom my teaching style to the student that I am with so that the student can learn in the best way possible. I will always reinforce my lessons with method books such as William Leavitt's modern methods for guitar and reading studies, while also transcribing songs for students and creating lesson plans and diagrams for them. My main focus is that the student learns the music that they want to learn enabling them to have a real interest and passion in what they are learning. Read More

I'm new to teaching on this level, but I do have some prior experience, most notably a paid tenure teaching a family friend for a summer. My student was very young and a novice, so I primarily utilized both formal methods for the understanding of fundamentals of music theory and technique, though I also helped her learn to play a few popular songs at her request. Letting students pursue their own personal interests in music in addition to teaching them the fundamentals is important to me, but with more experienced students I generally tend to focus more on improvisation and harmony as opposed to sightreading. Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
