I believe that each child is a unique individual who needs a secure, caring, and stimulating atmosphere in which to grow and mature emotionally, intellectually, physically, and socially. It is my desire as a educator to help students meet their fullest potential by providing an environment that is safe, supports risk-taking, and invites a sharing of ideas, providing settings that encourage student confidence, independence, teamwork and high achievement. I would plan courses of study for their students on a regular basis using a wide range of music, musical concepts and materials and foster students’ interest and facilitate their musical learning by using a variety of resources, equipment, technology, materials, methods, music and teaching styles and strategies. One of my hopes as an educator is to instill the passion of music in my students, as I share my own passion for the piano with them. I feel there is a need for compassionate, strong, and dedicated individuals who are excited about working with children. My goal is to guide my students to be creative, passionate, independent thinkers and problem solvers.
Over 30 years of experience as a Music Instructor and I have a special training in Music Education
I've found the best way to teach is to cater to each student's interest. While early or beginning players may require some fundamental grunt work, there is always a way to assure that it's fun too. Earlier students would need to start learning the basics: rhythm, learning to read, developing technique through scales etc. of which there are many methods. As students mature, I feel the Suzuki method for aspiring classical students is the best route (there are multiple books in this series) along with some other extensive and more challenging works. As far as adults, I feel like assessing their interests - whether classical, jazz, pop, rock, hip-hop etc. - to assure they get the most out of their lesson experience.
I expect my students to come into their lessons with a notebook and pencil so that they can write down what happens during the lessons. This is how they look back and reflect during their inmdividual practice.
I have taught friends and family how to play both drums and guitar. I am always happy to share my knowledge of music theory and composition and I give great guidelines and techniques to writing original music.

The main benefit of taking music lessons is that they help instill a love of music! Students who take music lessons are much more likely to enjoy many different types of music, because greater understanding increases musical appreciation. Music lessons also have been shown to improve students academic performance, resulting in higher test scores in maths, sciences, and linguistics.
Musika understands that students want to feel safe before having a teacher come into their home, or before going to a teachers studio. Therefore, Musika hand screens all teachers and performs background checks using Intellicorp, a leading provider of screening solutions.
Musika offers every student a risk free trial lesson to make sure you are comfortable with the teacher. The trial is a chance to meet the teacher, experience their lesson style, and to start planning a custom lesson plan with the teacher. If you aren't satisfied after your trial lesson, it will be no charge, and we can match you with another teacher - no questions asked.
Everyone has a busy schedule these days. With the option of in home lessons from Musika, we allow you to add studying an instrument into your day without the hassle of traveling to another place! In home lessons allow you to study in the comfort and security of your own home. This is a great option for both busy children and adults.
Live performing is a great asset to any musician. Musika offers recitals every year in the Spring where students of all ages and levels can come together to show off their hard work! Teachers help the students to choose and prepare their material, and Musika provides the venue and a piano accompanist if the student should need one.

My daughter has been taking piano lessons through her school district program for the last two years. She had learned a lot in that class but I noticed that she needed advanced classes at this point. After reviewing several websites I decided to enroll my daughter for the trial at MUSIKA. We got Mrs. Veronica B., and I am more than happy we got her as my daughter's teacher. Mrs. Veronica B. was very professional and very knowledgeable at the trial day. She was able to assess my daughter skill's level, and then she was able to give suggestions about how to improve those skills. My daughter has taken 5 classes with Mrs. Barker, and I can see she enjoys each class and she's improved a lot since day one. I can picture my daughter playing her favorites songs on the piano very soon!!! :-)

Lindsey has been coming to our house to give saxophone lessons to our 12 year old daughter for about a month. She is an absolute joy. She is extremely knowledgeable, flexible with her schedule, and my daughter thinks she is "fun" and "cool". We would highly recommend her to anyone wanting music lessons. A+

"My daughter is 10 years old and has been taking piano lessons with Mr. Dale J. for almost 4 years now. She is progressing nicely. His kind and gentle way make for a very positive learning experience. Mr. Dale J. is encouraging without being harsh or belittling. He is patient and the ideal instructor for my daughter."

I've been taking lessons from Michael once a week for eight weeks now, and with his help I have made dramatic improvements with my sax. Michael is a funny, nice, patient and all around great instructor. I'd recommend Michael, as an instructor, to anyone who wants to improve their skills and have fun while doing it.

Having taken 6 years of piano lessons myself when I was young, I am very happy with Osmond teaching my daughter. He is very personable and helping her to enjoy piano. My daughter loves the fun songs she gets to play and I really appreciate how he is integrating even in the first month fingering, chords, beats, and hearing the music. She's getting a very well rounded training and she's loving it!

Brett is an accomplished musician, who shared his knowledge at a level that my five year old understands. He is polite and relaxed in his mannerisms but take a serious approach to focusing on the lesson. He is very patient and engaging with the attention span you'd expect from a kindergartener. His motto ever is "sometime you learn faster by going slow"

Mrs. Regnarene is an awesome teacher!!! She found musical aids that appealed to my 5 year old daughter and used them to help teach her piano. She has a lot of patience and I could tell she puts in the work before class to have a lesson ready for my daughter. She is always punctual, friendly and respectful. I would recommend her to any parents who want to start their kids off with a good foundation in piano. Jermain T. Riverview, FL

Caitlyn is friendly, helpful and still holds my high-school aged daughter accountable for practicing. She also makes sure the music technique is mastered correctly during the lessons - they work hard and still have a good time together. I can highly recommend her as a flute teacher. My daughter is very happy & grateful to have found Caitlyn as a teacher.

“Lynn has taught my daughter guitar for 9 years. She has always managed to keep her engaged and provide an exceptional learning experience. She tailors the lesson specifically to the student’s interests and abilities. She provides many opportunities for students to showcase their talents outside of lessons. We love working with Lynn.” Maureen Young, Dir. of Finance, Aug 2015
Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.Ok
Are you sure that's your only availability? The more availability you easier it will be to arrange a teacher for you.
