I worked as an adjunct voice professor for 5 years at Texas Southern University (TSU) before joining Houston Baptist University (HBU) as a full-time voice faculty in 2017. At HBU, my job duties extensively include: teaching individual voice students as well as lecturing group classes daily, advising students, teaching masterclasses; creating programs; directing various concerts weekly, and collaborating with both local and international artists and organizations. I ask a lot of questions and encourage them to ask questions and give feedback, and I try to make the environment comfortable so they feel comfortable doing so. I teach based on understanding. It was a great honor. Late into highschool I was accepted at the DCI CADETS for 3rd trumpet part. This is the second best drum corp (at the time) in the world out of over a dozen different division 1 corps.
