When I was 16 years old I became band leader in my after school orchestra. It wasn't because I was the most technical player, but because my love and affinity for music allowed me to communicate about it clearly. Since that time I have taught the piano in private and professional settings in Madrid, and more recently in New York. Here I have expanded to teach voice, guitar and drums after spending a decade studying while teaching piano. Read More

For beginners, I typically start with Suzuki and/or Strictly Strings, though for bass players I tend to move towards Vance/SS instead. Once the fundamentals are understood, then we begin to start more technical exercises and start to prepare solo repertoire. For students who are more experienced or older, I try to see what specifically they are interested in and incorporate that into our work. I emphasize how important proper posture and playing position is, as more advanced techniques would be hard to do without proper posture and could even cause pain later on. Read More

My teaching experience goes back to my undergraduate days, I began teaching private lessons 7 years ago. I have a great experience for online teaching as well, as I recently had a variety of students to teach on Zoom. Currently I am a teacher at the Long Island Conservatory and I also teach privately. In my career I was also teaching music theory and piano and I did many workshops in primary schools where I gained a lot of experience to introduce kids and inspire them to start learning an instrument. My teaching style is a combination of Suzuki method and traditional method. Having learned with the traditional method, I feel it is vital and extremely important for students to learn to read music from the point at which they start reading books and words, this is typically at age 5. For students under age 5 we begin learning everything by ear, once they start reading we introduce reading notes. I'm passionate about having a parent present for every lesson as it is extremely important that a parent or caretaker learn the material so they can be the teacher at home during the week for practice sessions. Positive reinforcement is key. I never learned from the mean or the overly strict teachers. In fact those teachers pushed me in the opposite direction of wanting to pursue music professionally. By going at the pace that is comfortable to the student, and praising them at every hurdle they encounter, the progress made can be exponentially greater than if the student is rushed to prepare a piece of music they don't truly care for in the first place. Instruments: Drums Music

Every drum student receives personalized drum lessons designed to motivate, excite, challenge, and move the drum student at a steady and comfortable pace. No drum lesson is complete until the student has a full understanding of the concepts discussed and exercises assigned. Whether the student is a beginner, intermediate, advanced I will tailor the drum lessons to meet the student's goals and aspirations. Some student may want to learn rock beats to jam with their friends or to ultimately play professionally as a drummer, I can help show the way. Read More

Instruments: Piano Drums

Since every student has different goals I like to plan my lessons accordingly. I found it very useful to devide the lesson into 3 parts : Technique, reading and drumset studies. Whether the student is excited about rock, pop, jazz, hiphop or samba, this method creates a solid foundation for the drummer's ultimate goal - to groove on the drumset! To make the lesson even more fun and interactive, I love to work on playing along with recordings which give the student the feel of playing with his favorite band! Read More

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
