Students are to perform not only a recital if possible or play a solo as part of a musical program but to play in a musical organization if possible. I use the Suzuki method which is an ear training method that trains the students to play familiar songs without having to read music. I teach them to read music afterwords. Much of my teaching method revolves around improvisation and experimentation. My students have been selected for county honor bands, all northern honor bands, all state honor bands and even all national honor bands.
