Music is my gift. I am blessed with a natural ability which I have dedicated my life to learn, cultivate and nurture. To share this through teaching is rewarding. I teach students of all ages and levels. We have two recitals per year, which are unique and fun because of our wide variety of instruments and our group songs. Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop a passion for music! Therefore, it's important that each student progresses at his or her own pace. I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson. Acknowledging accomplishments helps fuel a students desire to progress, and makes students eager to learn more. In Middle school, I began tutoring classmates in mathematics and realized the importance of making the intangible, accessible and that not everyone will innately use the same approach, method, process or visualization to arrive at the solution. In High school I tutored German and Casteon, and it became obvious that "How" we hear is extremely important to "what" we hear, and, are able to replicate. I am a classically trained cellist turned instructor with a passion and unwavering love for music and teaching. I love working with students and sharing my love of music and the arts with them. In 2016, I graduated from Northern Arizona University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music. I have spent the last 15 years honing my skills as a cellist. When I hear a student playing a song they have made up, I teach them how to write it down.
