I am a classically trained cellist turned instructor with a passion and unwavering love for music and teaching. I love working with students and sharing my love of music and the arts with them. For a decade had studios in San Francisco and Silicon Valley before leaving the S.F. Bay area. For twenty years I served as a public educator teaching some, K-5 music, 1st year band and middle school orchestra. Most of my duty load was as a first year String Orchestra teacher. When I came to the district it was titled Strings class. For beginners I usually start with Mel Bay Guitar Method, Book One or Hal Leonard Guitar Method One. Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire appropriate for their first recital performance. For adults, I try to find out what the student is interested in, and guide my instruction accordingly to keep the lessons engaging and fun, no matter their ability level. Read More

For students between the ages of 3 and 7, I typically use either the Little Mozarts method or the Birds and Dogs method. For students who are older, I use a combination of methods, including Alfred's, Bastien and Faber. I have also designed and used my own curriculum for students with special needs, including students who have autism, cerebral palsy, nerve damage, ADHD and for gifted students.
