I have been playing drums for 14 years and started when I was 10. The influence I had from other drummers that I saw was what sparked my interest in playing them. Seeing the greats like Roger Taylor of Queen, John Bonham of Led Zeppelin, or even now Matt Greiner of August Burns Red, I wanted that, but I knew I couldn't get there without practice. I have been playing piano for 22 years, and graduated from Taylor University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management Systems and Piano Performance. I relocated to Washington DC after winning the drumset chair for the United States Navy Band Sea Chanters in 2017. With the Sea Chanters, I've performed for the Chief of Naval Operations, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, President of the United States at the White House, NY Giants halftime shows, and the Fireworks Spectacular with the Boston Pops. I try to make a custom curriculum for each individual student, but I usually cater to broader skill level groups. Nothing makes me happier than being able to teach my students and help them learn or enhance their ability to perform flute and understand the music they are sharing with others. I enjoy helping my students achieve more and continuously inspire them to become better musicians. Through regular practice and mentorship, I teach them to became independent and confident performers. My goal has always been to be a facilitator of my students' journeys to success and hopefully to encourage them to fall in love with the flute just like I did at a very young age. Read More
