I have played in many different churches, many different colleagues recitals, and many different gigs all encompassing different music genres. He is just as amazing on bass guitar as he is on double bass. Once the student has progressed from that book then I move on to sight seeing with the student. Students learn at different rates, so, therefore, I want each student to progress at his or her own pace, without comparison to where my other students may be at. I want learning an instrument to be an enjoyable experience, and though the student may have to do and play practices, exercises, and pieces that they may not necessarily enjoy in the moment, it will all be beneficial to him or her in the long run and I will incorporate pieces and selections that interest them as well.
