For beginner students, I will start with theory basics that are foundational to learning and can be directly applied to their instrument. There is no reason for music lessons to be dreary, almost all of my students enjoy their lessons and have no problem coming back week after week to be challenged again. He is just as amazing on bass guitar as he is on double bass. Once the student has progressed from that book then I move on to sight seeing with the student.
