If teachers skip the fundamentals, there is no foundation. I think the best teachers integrate fun with drills which creates the best results. I am a competitor by nature, so I have a goal to get the best out of my students. I will do what I have to do to make sure these students can play by the time we are done. As long as the student is enjoying themselves and getting better at their instrument, that is all we can ask for as leaders! Read More

I have made a lot of sheets/handouts that I have collected over the years and give these out to my students for free, this has worked well for most students. I try to adapt my teaching style to fit any student and help them achieve their goals and believe the best teachers are able to break down complex ideas or difficult concepts into simple steps that any student can follow. My goal for every lesson is for the students to feel accomplished by the end. This gives them the drive and inspiration that they need to become a great player. I also like to acknowledge students improvements on things they have practiced. In my mind a student will never improve with intense mean criticism. I always acknowledge the good first and things to work on second. This helps with there overall confidence in there playing. Read More
