I always suggest using a metronome and tuner and listening to recordings of the pieces. For older students and adults, I try to discover what the student is interested in, and guide my instruction accordingly to keep the lessons engaging and fun, no matter their ability level. I mostly go based off the Suzuki Violin Method books and will guide my students in correct engagement to playing notes, focusing on dynamics, bowings, and finger note placements along with positions of the hand on the violin.
