Instruments: Piano

For beginning students who are childern, I use Nancy Faber's Primer and Level One matieral. As soon as they develop a strong foundation using technique, theory, and a basic knowldege of what it means to play piano, I introduce them to a genre that they are passionate about for recital work: whether it is based on a movie, a favorite pop star, or a classical musician. For adult students, I work with Alfred Adult Basic Level One materials which give students a firm grasp on what it means to play the piano, technique, and theory. Read More

Instruments: Cello

I like to give my students a range of music they can choose from something that they would like to play, something that would make them want to practice because they are interested in learning It. All my students will have homework. They have till the next time I see them which is usually a weeks time period. This is important because it can’t be too much work it has to be engaging and fun but technical so that the student can improve their skills. Read More

Instruments: Lute

My road to teaching starts with getting to know my student. It is the music they listen to, play, or wish to play that helps me to identify specifically what aspect of their Instrument they wish to explore, expand on and refine. I do believe that goals in the form of pieces of music as a graduating accomplishment are absolutely necessary. Initially, simple and easy to understand repertoire is introduced as to develop the necessary fundamentals. Read More

Instruments: Piano Voice Music

I am fairly new to teaching, but have taught 1-4 grade general music, 5-6 grade choir, and am currently a high school choir director. I have performed in many choral settings including professional choirs with full orchestras. I have made debuts in operas. I have also directed and assisted choirs in the learning process and in performance. To create a healthy vocal sound, I encourage vocalizing everyday for at least 30 minutes. Read More

Instruments: Trombone Euphonium Tuba

I'm a very patient and inventive trombone instructor who enjoys teaching new and old students. It has been my goal to pass on the knowledge and experience I have gained over the years of performing on trombone. In 2015, I graduated from Cal State University of Fullerton with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music with an emphasis on trombone. Like many musicians, I have traveled the world to experience different music that others culture have to offer. Read More

Instruments: Bass Guitar

I believe in teaching the basics first and working on technique and just being able to play the instrument before anything else. Most people learning guitar (bass or otherwise) want to start rocking right away, and I think that's great! It's a less "academic" instrument than playing the piano or harp, so I don't see the problem with that. Also, it's your money and I want to see you satisfied :) It is important to know what notes you are playing, especially if the student wants to play with other musicians, so that is a must, as well.
