Instruments: Bass Guitar
As I mentioned with my methods, people pick up the guitar and want to start playing right away and I don't see anything wrong with that! I believe anybody can learn to play their favorite songs as long as they put in the practice and have a little patience. It might not be realistic to play a song day 1, but some people really do catch on quickly! We will set individual goals student to student and go from there! Read More

I like to take a more personal tailored approach and focus on areas that are difficult for at student to learn. I treat each lesson like a building block and I keep detailed analysis of all of my students progress. I am very passionate about teaching and I enjoy the look and feel of success the students get form my knowledge. I able to teach any age with a variety of different styles, be it classical, solo, funk, jazz, marching band, orchestra or concert band, I have knowledge of them all. Read More

My teaching style is very laid back yet structured. Music is fun and is taught that way!!! I use various methods for different students because everyone learns different. There is no "Best" way to teach. Read More

My teaching style relates to my personal practice of building and nurturing a rapport and working relationship with individuals, in any setting, including teaching. If the student(s) and I can foster mutual trust and understanding, we can be productive as we work together. As the great William Vennard once noted, I think of the lesson not only as “the student’s lesson” but as “our lesson.” I try to listen to the student’s desires and needs and to discern what will work best for the personality and interests of the student, both generally, and in that particular session. Instruments: Violin
For beginning students who are children, I typically start with Suzuki Violin School Book 1. Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals on starting on the Violin and learning terms and positions and correct stances, bowings, finger placements, etc... I will begin to introduce solo repertoire appropriate for students to grasp everything there is to know on the Violin like scales and names of violin positions and dynamics. Read More

I have been teaching private lessons in Manhattan and Brooklyn for the last 7 years. I decided to pursue my studies in music education here in the Central Valley to be closer to my family. I've taught lessons in drums and percussion, ukulele, guitar and piano. No matter what age you may be, my approach is all about having fun and learning your instrument along the way; music is meant to be enjoyed! Read More

My methods are I teach what I can, and everything I can help with a student. I like answering questions as much as music is concern and I love exploring. I teach at a very slowly manner, without any pressure, what the child or student can do. I assess the potential and capacity first and then well start from there until we level up when he/she gets what Im talking about, I give time to the student so he/she wont be pressured and get frustrated. What musical accomplishments are you most proud of?
I feel like I have had several accomplishments and awards with music, but the things I’m most proud of are the moments I’ve had as a teacher. There is just no feeling cooler than watching something click for one of your students, and watching them grow and create their own accomplishments.
Why did you choose your primary instrument?
I originally wanted to play the flute, and they stuck me on trombone! I was so upset at first, but they told me I would get more scholarships being a girl trombone player, haha! While this wasn’t true, this is what got me started! I was very bad when I started and couldn’t even make a sound on my instrument. However, once I finally figured it out, I fell in love with my instrument and it has been a huge part of my life ever since!
What advice do you have about practicing effectively?
Breaking things apart! When practice sessions aren’t going how we would like them to, often it’s because you are trying to process more information than your brain can handle in the moment. This can look like breaking it down to a few measures at a time, or breaking down the elements (play only the rhythm, play only the notes, etc).
How do I know if my child is ready to start lessons?
Lessons are for every student at every level! A student is ready to be in lessons if they’re ready to put time and dedication into their instrument. If students are not prepared to work on their instrument outside of their lesson, they might not be ready for the commitment to lessons.
When will I start to see results?
Results as a musician are like results from working out. Every time you work out, you’re getting stronger, but you might not see muscle definition for a while. Some elements can give instant gratification, but most of the skills we work on might not feel that different until there is a large change. This is because the progress we make as musicians happens a little bit at a time.
Did you have a teacher that inspired you to go into music? How did they inspire you?
I was always inspired by my band directors! As a child, I loved band. I was truly a band kid at heart and put everything I had into it. All of my directors were very encouraging and helpful, and gave me lessons (as this wasn’t something available to me at my school). As I’ve gone through college, I have had several teachers that were very encouraging and have inspired me to be the same for my students.
