My lessons are not built for me to tell the student what to do, but rather learn how they learn and research the best practices for reaching that student. Due to my training in the Suzuki Violin Method, I often start my beginner students with Suzuki Book 1. However, I supplement this music with exercises found in other method books, as well as fun games and activities that help my younger students learn more about the violin. For students that are new to music I usually start with Hal Leonard's Essential Elements, this book is really good to start to learn about music and the instrument, and then Suzuki method for repertoire.
