I push my students to practice daily for at least an hour and I give specific vocalizations that will help strengthen particular weaknesses in each voice. For children and other beginners, I would start our lessons by encoding the basic function of music theory application of a drum pad. This will allow stick control and muscle memory to begin developing. As the beginner becomes more of a novice, I will introduce simple and repetitive songs and go over them as whole pieces. Those who are experienced in percussion, I will have them show me all of the rudiments they know, any complete pieces they have memorized, and have 5 minutes of improvisation. Read More

I am a passionate and motivated instructor and music performer and  I am confident that my academic background and performance experience would be successfully utilized in this teaching position. I have a Masters of Music degree in Vocal Performance from The Royal Danish Academy of Music and a Bachelors of Music from the Peabody Conservatory of the Johns Hopkins University. I began my vocal private studio while working on my Masters degree in Copenhagen in 2007. As a performer I have had the opportunity to work with companies such as Opera Naples, Gulfshore Opera, Miami Lyric Opera, Sobe Arts, Miami International Piano Festival, Orchestra Miami, Symphony of the Americas, Miami Symphony Orchestra, Emerald City Opera, Miami Opera Institute, Florida Chamber Orchestra, Russian Opera Workshop, Danish Radio Choir and Orchestra, Royal Danish Academy Choir and Orchestra and the Amager Music Festival to name a few.        Read More

I started teaching 9 years ago. I really enjoy, and love seeing the progress with my students. Having fun is key. Learning to play an instrument or singing tends to quickly evolve as the students catches interest. Approaching the lessons from a natural and easy to understand method results into a second nature and a more excelling learning approach. Being able to learn a specific or different genres of music from Classical, Pop, R&B, Jazz, Contemporary Christian, Reggae, Latin etc is also a way to develop the student interest. Read More

I feel that progress and growth is important but my philosophy is to have fun with learning because when you enjoy what you do success follows. I am consistently inspiring and motivating my students to achieve a little bit more each time. I make sure that I listen to each of my students needs and what they are looking for from there lessons.
