I graduated college in the Spring of 2020 and then proceeded to get a temporary teaching job as a orchestra director in Pike Township for the first half of the year. This was followed by an elementary teaching position in the same township. I then took a step back to focus on my playing. I am now teaching private lessons and part time saxophone a Pendleton Heights Middle School. Still in search of a full time teaching position but this is something I have always wanted to pursue. I individualize my teaching methods for each student based on their ability level. After I assess the ability level, I find level-appropriate method books, scale studies, etudes, tone exercises, sight reading, and solo repertoire. I use method books that I am personally familiar with and like, but am open to looking for new, exciting options. I make sure that the students feels comfortable with materials, but is also challanged so that they may progress in their skills. Read More

One of the things that puts a smile on my face is seeing one of my students develop a passion for music as well as a passion for learning. Therefore, its important that each student progresses at their own pace. I try to encourage this by setting realistic and attainable goals for my students at every lesson. My teaching style is focused around making sure my students feel comfortable. I try to always bring a positive and supportive envoirnment into our space. In the first lesson I usually give a set of ways to practicing that I believe will help each student succeed. This will include warm-ups, ways to go over a challenging section of a piece, and ways to improve overall technique. You should come to each less prepared and ready to work. Read More
