For beginning students, we typically begin with Essential Elements while discovering fundamentals of the instrument and getting a handle on reading bass clef and rhythms. This of course varies on a student's previous experience or comfort with reading music. We progress from there into appropriate etudes that can be quite melodic and entertaining to practice and then beginning solo repertoire, and advance from there. Seeing growth in students and seeing them enjoy music is part of my love for teaching. I set realistic goals and incorporate music theory, scales, chords as soon as the student is ready. I also teach composition and music production to those who are interested. I teach music production from a sequencing app that works on Apple and Android.
