Hello! I am an energetic and driven teacher who loves sharing his knowledge of music with others! Drums are my passion, and I'm lucky enough to say that they're my profession as well! I attended the University of Michigan as a percussion performance major, and then moved to NYC because, let's be honest, there is no better place in the entire world for musicians! I offer all of my students an opportunity to play with an actively gigging teacher; someone who knows the inner workings of what it takes to make it as a musician. I also have extensive knowledge of NYSSMA and the all-regional ensembles that you can be playing with! Please feel free to peruse the rest of my page. I look forward to working with you!

I believe learning the fundamentals of instruments and music are essential to students’ success. Solo repertoire based on interest and skill level are also crucial. Materials for these two areas of learning are based on the curriculum that works best for the individual student. I encourage all students to participate in competitions, region and area honors bands, and many groups within their school in order to gain experience and confidence on their instrument.

I have worked since 1998 teaching individual and group lessons to children and adults in violin, voice and elementary piano. Although I have specialized in teaching the Suzuki method for violin since 2002 (and viola shortly after), I have ample knowledge of other methods and approaches and have been able to "mix and match" successfully according to the individual needs of every student. My multi-phaceted background as a concert singer and instrumentalist allows me to create unique and imaginative experiences in my lessons, while still providing clear guidance and healthy discipline. I particularly enjoy the process of beginning with new students as young as 3 and taking them as far as they can go for as many years as life allows. I also enjoy teaching adults of all levels. But I am equally comfortable teaching at an advanced level taking students all the way to playing as soloists with orchestra, as well as preparing them for school and professional auditions in both voice and violin.  Being myself a performer who constantly seeks to polish the art of pedagogy makes for wonderful, inspiring lessons for myself and my studentsWhatever your goal maybe, let me help you reach it, and let's enjoy the process of falling in love with music- wherever that may take you!

I am a 33 year old New York based professional drummer from Rome (Italy). I have been involved in music from a very early age, thanks to my father who sings and plays guitar, bass, piano, harmonica and drums. Music for me is a pure passion that became my job. As a teacher I try to pass that passion on to my students, helping them to find their own love of music, to have fun and eventually to do it professionally.

I firmly believe that a love of music, over anything else, should be the driving force behind learning to play an instrument. I therefore try to instill in my students a genuine love of the art. This love then makes him/her want to practice! Practicing (and the entire learning process in general) should be natural, fluid, creative process rather than the heavy burden many young people make it out to be. By introducing my students to various composers and artists within the genres of jazz, blues, and classical, I open their hearts and minds to the wonderful world of music and in turn inspire them to work hard and achieve.

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
