Instruments: Oboe English Horn
For beginning oboists I typically start with the Gekeler Method for Oboe. Once a student has moved passed the basics the fun begins with Ferling Etudes, the Barret Oboe Method, and the Vade Mecum! There is a wide variety of solos, sonatas, and concertos available for study between these method books intended solely for oboists. They also include duets that are fun to play together, and repertoir for the English horn as well. Read More

Im a dedicated and passionate creative with years of experience to share with my students; Im empathetic and good at teaching you the way you learn. I grew up playing blues and jazz in venues and clubs around the Bay Area as a teen and later graduated from Berklee College of Music with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Electronic Production and Design, where I had the opportunity to dive into the world of production, synthesis and electronics while simultaneously studying guitar as my principle instrument. Instruments: Flute Piccolo
I have been teaching since college, where I frequently filled in as a substitute for private and group lessons and offered coaching to other music students who were pursuing flute as a secondary instrument. I then worked at several band programs in the Austin area, teaching private lessons and sectionals, while I was pursuing my master's degree. Currently, I am a Teaching Artist at Play on Philly, a non-profit organization offering musical instruction to underserved communities. Read More

Clarinet and saxophone are melodic instruments. Read More

My style is to get students to start performing and playing songs, so that they maybe come as passionate about music as I am! I try to keep each student at paces they are comfortable with and set goals for each student to get to the next level. I tailor my instruction to inspire students to create and make music. Read More

My students generally comment that I am patient. I try to go at the right speed for the student, pushing them where it works but slowing down when needed. I'm very methodical and try to break things down to focus on the details so each piece of information is easily digestible and easy to grasp. Read More
Instruments: Piano
For beginning students, I choose Alfred's Basic Piano Library and Faber Piano Adventures, and other brands/materials that fits the need of the student. I often made teaching materials myself, as well as writing music for my students. The most important thing for beginners are keeping interest and correct postures. Starting from songs the student recognize usually helps. For advance students, I usually recommend repertoire covering all 4 classical periods, plus etudes and finger trainings. Read More
