I want to help every student achieve their personal goals in music, whether it is to work on school music, learn a new instrument or become a professional musician. I encourage structure in the lessons, but am flexible to work on the students needs. I want my students to perform and experience live performances. I provide serval venues and ensembles where I perform as well as other performances happening in the Pittsburgh area.
I tailor each lesson to the student. I don't like to follow a 'one size fits all approach'. Every student is different and I don't think it benefits my students to use a cookie cutter approach to every student. Additionally, each students have different goals. I focus my lessons on their students achieving their INDIVIDUAL goals as opposed to a standard curriculum.
For clarinet and saxophone students enrolled in school programs, I generally teach from their school method books, supplementing with standard methods like Rose, Baermann, and Rubank. I encourage interested students to study solo or chamber repertoire of their choice, allowing them to explore the music that interests them most. For beginning piano students, I generally use the Faber method books for younger students, and the Bastien methods for older students.
I am a young but very experienced instructor and vocalist. I am currently completing my vocal performance degree at Duquesne University. When not teaching, I perform with the Mt. Lebanon United Lutheran Chancel Choir, and I cantor Mass at St. Benedict the Abbot in Peters Township and St. Louise de Marillac in Bethel Park. I have been teaching privately for three years, and have worked with David's Music House and Accelerando Music Conservatory.
My teaching experience dates back to my junior year of college where I began teaching ages 7-13 as an after school program. Since then, for 8 years, I have been teaching voice and piano out of my home and loving every second of it! I have had beginner all the way to advanved students in both voice and piano ranging in ages from 6 to 66. i have been a part of many choirs, music ensembles, and theatrical productions. I am able to prepare any student for any situation!

Musika students perform most often on piano and guitar, but we also have many singers, violinists, and even drummers - every instrument and style is welcome.
The benefits music lessons offer are endless. Not only will students develop a knowledge of music, but that knowledge will carry over into all areas of life. Students who study music have been shown to do better on math, science, and language tests. This knowledge of music also fosters an appreciation for the arts, which grows with understanding.
Musika offers a convenient solution for when you want to add music lessons to your busy schedule. Teachers can come to your home on the days you are available, and give you the same great lesson that you would have in a studio! This option allows you to stay in the comfort of your own home and get a great music lesson at the same time. With in home lessons you are able to save time and money that would usually be spent on travel expenses.
Your introductory lesson is a chance for you to meet your teacher, and ask any questions you have before committing to registering for lessons. Only after you have decided to continue with your teacher would you provide any billing information for Musika. This trial lesson is a great time to discuss your current skill level and goals so the teacher will be able to work out a customized lesson plan for you.
To give you peace of mind before meeting a new music teacher, we hand select and screen all of teachers in our network, and conduct a thorough background check using Intellicorp, a leading screening and background check solutions provider.

Giorgi has made learning cello even more fun. From the sympathetic, "It is hard" to the precise, "Be careful about the curve of the thumb" he has strengthened learning in every lesson, without being overwhelming. He started playing a little duet on only the 3rd lesson or so, which made me feel, even as a beginner, that I'm already starting to make (occasionally screachy) music. He has suggested a variety of drills and practice techniques which have also sped up the process a lot. And he has a good sense of humor and surprising amount of patience.

"Mr. Richard has been absolutely perfect for our very active two boys. He has been an excellent fit for gauging and keeping their interest far beyond what we had imagined. Our boys actually argue over who gets to go first. Mr. Richard knocks it out of the park when it comes to exceeding our expectations"

"My daughter is 10 years old and has been taking piano lessons with Mr. Dale J. for almost 4 years now. She is progressing nicely. His kind and gentle way make for a very positive learning experience. Mr. Dale J. is encouraging without being harsh or belittling. He is patient and the ideal instructor for my daughter."

Rahsaan is an extremely talented player who relates really well with my teenagers. He has them both interested in learning. Given Rahsaan's expertise, it's clear that even though they are beginners now, they can learn from him for a long time to come. He's a real nice laid-back guy and both the boys really enjoy their time with him. I've been very impressed and pleased with the experience.

I was skeptical at first not knowing what I was getting my self into.. I am very happy that I forced myself to get into voice lessons because Eli is an awsome voice coach.. Very skillful and he helps you reach the goal you are trying to reach.. He is also very helpful with getting you to open up and come out of your shell and being heard.. I would and I already have recommended friends and family to sign up with Eli if they're serious about singing..

Darrell is A-Maz-Ing! He demands results from his students and therefore results come quickly. The time he spends teaching is intense and packed with great instruction. He is a tough teacher but offers lots of valuable instruction that is applicable for music as well as life in general. I highly recommend Darrell if you are ready for results!

My son is truly enjoying his lessons with Chris. He looks forward to them and is motivated to practice. Chris is conscientious and shows up on time and whenever he is supposed to. He communicates clearly if rescheduling is ever required and is accommodating when we need to change the day. I would recommend Chris to anyone.

Omar is a great teacher as he provides expert instruction AND the right amount of encouragement. He is a professional musician on several instruments, yet he is patient with beginners! He also has gone out of his way to purchase an appropriate book for me, strings to re-string the cello, and extra attention to tuning. I appreciate how he explains and demonstrates exactly what a beginning cello student needs to know.

Travis is an extremely knowledgeable guitarist and teacher. Travis is equally comfortable in playing/teaching jazz, rock, blues, or classical styles. I really like the way he explains things and he has the ability to make difficult material seem simpler. Travis is very likeable, enthusiastic, and always very professional. I think Travis would be great teaching either children or adults because he's very patient. My learning experience with Travis has been outstanding. He taught me some great techniques for chord substitution and for soloing. I'll continue to work with Travis because he inspires me to be a better guitarist. I think he could really help me with composing because he writes some great songs too! Thanks Travis!
Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.Ok
Are you sure that's your only availability? The more availability you easier it will be to arrange a teacher for you.
