Overview:
I’m an active opera singer also passionate teacher who loves to teach students and sharing the heathy singing techniques. I studied voice since I was a little and attended to the top 3 conservatory to finish my Bachelor’s degree in China, and came to United States to accomplish my Master’s degree in vocal performance in 2012, currently getting my Doctral degree in vocal performance at University of Illinois Urbana Champaign. And held many solo voice recitals and performed major roles in Verdi and Puccini’s operas, etc. I would like to share all my experiences with young singers to help their singing life start to blossom!
EXPERIENCE
Since I began teaching voice college, it has been more than 10 years. And I have been teaching beginner piano about 2 years. Also I like to discover every young singers beautiful voices and try to help them to find out their own voice with the healthy techniques. That’s really important for young singer to get to know well about their own voice. It’s always right to help younger musicians to find out the musical style that fits them well and enjoy the every moment that they sing or play! I encouraged and helped my students to enter recitals, performances and competitions. I’m always happy to help new stufent of all ages!
METHODS USED
For the beginning students I will introduce the basic music theory studying combines with technical studying, which are improving the students to get the grasp of foundmentals, and depends on the different situations of the students to choose the most suitable repertoire appropriate for their performance and recitals. For adults, it’s especially to be careful with choosing the right repertoire to show the best part of their own, and help them improve the technical part in order to be a good performer!
LESSON STYLE
Nothing is more rewarding than seeing the student develop a passion for music! It’s really important to see each student get improved at their own pace! I will try to help them on their own problems and try to discover their own benefits. It’s really important to students to realize how secpial they are, nobody can be copied! So my job is to help you to find your own and work on it until to reach your goal with Music! By trying to find out what inspires students l, I can successfully tailor my instruction to their wants and needs!
