I firmly support my personal slogan, "Teaching to learn loving to teach", because ultimately that's the meaning of teaching. Teaching is essentially for the student to learn the material, but at the same time the student is teaching me patience and joy. I base my teaching method on my strong enthusiastic, optimistic, patient, and loving character. I make sure the student feels comfortable and take any amount of time until they thoroughly understand the subject of choice. Read More

I'm an experienced and effective instructor with a passion for helping those with an interest in learning guitar realize their full potential. I graduated from the Berklee College of Music with a Bachelor of Professional Studies in Interdisciplinary Studies, as well as certification in Guitar Mastery. Before my time at Berklee, I studied guitar performance, classical guitar, jazz theory, and blues performance at the Atlanta Institute of Music. I also have years of performance experience, playing lead guitar for bands all over Atlanta. Read More

My method of teaching is tailored to each student. The first step is to assess the level of a student. Once that is accomplished, together we develop a plan that fits the needs and goals of that student. For beginning students who are children, I typically assign musical theater pieces that will develop their skill and technique but not be too daunting for early singers. For adults, the lessons are usually geared toward the type of music that interests the student in conjunction with my guidance and instruction that keeps the lesson exciting and fun! Read More
Instruments: Piano Voice Keyboard
I began teaching at Derby Yamaha Music School, UK, coaching classes and private lessons for voice and piano. After leaving England, I began teaching at Pladd Dot Music, Statesboro. Here, I taught many students both voice and piano. Two in particular required coaching in their respective pageant and regional championship. Working together on technique etc, the students gained the title of Miss Hummingbird, as well as qualification to Miss Georgia, and qualification to regional championship this summer (2016). Instruments: Piano Trumpet Trombone Euphonium Tuba
I've been teaching lessons since I was in high school and younger students would ask for me for help with their playing. I love sharing my knowledge of music with others as it's something that has brought me a lot of joy in my life. One of the most important points I like to emphasize in my lessons is the importance of making a conscious effort to let go of the fear, anxiety, and physical tension that comes up naturally when most students have to play their instrument. For beginner students I like to start away from books and notation and work on sound production and call and response. This is a way to get the ear working and to have some fun with potentially the most daunting part of learning an instrument. Once we have mastered that we move to writen notation and try to match what we have been doing without the book. When a student has progressed towards a good understanding of music notation I will encourage solo repertoire and other projects that are of interest of the students based upon a common goal we have set for our time together. Instruments: Piano Drums Keyboard
Beginner students of any age will be playing music with the band during the first lesson! Although my curriculum is deep-seated in good technique, I believe it is important for students to develop fluidity and expressiveness from the very beginning. I am an accomplished keyboard player and utilize this skill to accompany my drum set students while they play grooves and lesson exercises so they can understand how it all "goes together". Read More
