In 2013, I graduated from Lawrence University with a Bachleor of Music in Double Bass Performance (with a Jazz Emphasis). While at Lawrence I studied bass with Mark Urness, jazz improvisation with Bill Carrothers and Jose Encarnacion, and compostition with Fred Sturm. I am flexible and I adapt my method to the student. I like to start students out with learning scales right away. If you can learn the scales, it makes learning new songs so much easier. Plus, they are great excercise for building agility.
