My teaching experience dates back to my time at Washburn University, where I have taught several students. Now I teach at Missouri State University as a part of my assistantship. I encourage regular practice and motivation for students to see results. I have found that allowing students to express how they feel about the songs they sing really helps them become better performers. I soon began to teach guitar lessons and loved the opportunity to share with students the simple things of making music. I changed my major to music education and took about every music class Missouri Western offered. I became a public school elementary vocal music teacher in Kansas City, Kansas. I believe in a student learning to hear music and think for themselves. Through ear training, creativity, and learning "how" music works, the goal is to get each student to not need a teacher to learn their instrument, but want a teacher so they may become their best version of it. I have experience in teaching voice and drums, dating back to my last semester in college. I have been able to teach young kids the absolute privilege of singing and performing. I really encourage my students to keep practice and warm up times at the top of their priority list. Improving your voice and performance abilities starts with warming up. I also encourage them to enter as many competitions as they can, as well as auditioning for as many shows across the country as they can, so that they can be noticed and people can see what they can do!
