For beginning voice I start with the fundamentals and breathing techniques. For beginning Clarinet lessons I start with the basics and fundamentals from assembling and disassembling the instrument along with proper cleaning, Storage and proper placement of fingers for playing and basic breathing techniques. For adults or students with more experience, I will cater my lessons specifically to each students interests and goals as I find that this is the best way to keep students engaged and excited to learn. For beginners I like to start with just a few chords, something to get them going and playing and get excited. So many songs have two or three chords! By getting a few under the fingers we can start to learn songs and get dexterity and scales going a little later. Practice is something I can't stress enough.
