I slowly introduce repertoire that is appropriate and can highlight their strengths. For more advanced singers, I continue to build upon the foundational elements and guide my instructions based upon the student's interest and goals. I was raised in Ohio where I spent my early years dancing. However, as I matured I realized I didn't enjoy dancing so much as I love the music I was moving too. I started on the clarinet in middle school and continued through high school. In college I picked up other instruments as I studied to become a classroom music teacher. I often try to include a “student challenge” most weeks in order to gauge how much a student is understanding during the lessons.
