I like to follow a format for lessons, giving a certain amount of time to warming up, practicing technical studies and scales, etudes or lessons, solo literature and ensemble (duet, trio, ensemble) literature. I would encourage students to make an agenda for practicing, I believe many student need to learn how to practice, much like study skills, so they can make good use of their time. Besides teaching in the Austrian school system I performed in chamber music groups and had solo tours of southern Austria. When I came back to the States I earned my masters in band/music instruction from Syracuse University. I have also performed with my group; 2 flutes and cello all around Central NY.
