For beginning students , I usually start with Faber& Faber method. In my opinion this is very popular method, created by Nancy and Randall Faber. Faber & Faber is a series of books for young and older beginner students. From the start I'm teaching students to play with expression and pay attention to music details. As soon as a student learned fundamental skills , I introduce and work with solo repertoire which is suitable for their first solo performance. Read More

In NYC I have played and recorded with many great musicians, including Rasul Siddik, Avram Fefer, Michael Attias, Adam Lane, and more recently with Jean Paul Bourelly, Mark Peterson, Burton Greene and Jon Sass. My collaboration with Reut Regev spans over a decade long, and throughout the years we have worked intensively in Duo, Trio, Quartet and Quintet formats, playing original compositions and covers. Their debut recording together "This is R*time", as well as their sophomore release "exploring the vibe" on Enja records, have received widespread international acclaim, and their group R*time has been touring Europe and north America since the first release in 2009, playing Festivals such as the Berlin Jazz Festival, Belgrade Jazz Festival, Strasbourg, Halifax, and Rudolstadt folk festival among many others. One of my favorite parts of teaching is supporting my students in the development of their authentic voices. Every student is unique and special in their own way, that's why I tailor each lesson for that specific student and I meet them exactly where they are. This allows the student to progress at their own pace. I encourage this development by setting realistic goals for each lesson, and acknowledging their accomplishments. Read More

Before anything, I find out what the goal of the lesson is. I always want to know what the students want, so I can plan around them. The lesson will always be about the student! After discussing the goal of the lesson, we will find repertoire, etudes, or other materials that either benefit the student technically, or will simply be enjoyable to the student. Since the goal of the student can either be anything, including playing professional recitals, or simply playing a Taylor Swift song from the radio, my priority will be that the student is enjoying their craft. Teaching is a joy. The music is a gift and it is a blessing to share it with others. I enjoy seeing students learn and pick up music right in front of my eyes. Teaching is a learning experience for myself as well. I enjoy working with others and use my skills/experience to inspire others. I push students hard but also give rewards and bring a feeling of fun into lessons since music is supposed to be enjoyable. Read More
