As a guitarist I have experience performing professionally with acoustic, electric, and classical (nylon) guitars, as well as banjo, mandolin, 12-string guitar, b-bender guitar, and ukulele. In Nashville, I have worked as a sideman and "hired-gun" with various songwriters, performing for both live and recorded music. He also works as a recording engineer, producer, and studio musician on several instruments. Freelancing as a performer I have played with many ensembles including extensive work as a theater musician. Read More

While there is no "One-size-fits-all" for all students, I start most students off with Essential Elements or Suzuki. As they progress I try to include pieces they like, pop songs, and different genres. The variety helps them stay engaged, learn a bit about different styles to broaden their knowledge, but also, have fun. As they get intermediate levels the paths diverge. Some of my students are doing Jazz improvisation, some of them, composition, and others are getting ready to audition for college. Read More

My main focus is on reaching the student, and fostering their love of music. I am adamant about instilling in students the genuine excitement and desire to pick up their instrument and practice. I graduated from Belmont University in 2014. Previous to living in Nashville, I lived in Wisconsin for 18 years. While I was there I played in a symphonic metal band called Warseid. Once I moved to Nashville, I started studying jazz, classical guitar, playing country, exploring avant-garde music as well as bluegrass. Read More

I began teaching voice 6 years ago, while still in my own undergraduate studies. Teaching bass and piano quickly followed once I realized how much I enjoyed the teaching side of music. I learned to love music at an early age, which got me into taking lessons, and eventually learning the process that is required to move a student forward. Slow and steady progress in all areas of music is the way I have learned, and is the way that I teach. Read More

I am enthusiastic about teaching others both how to play and understand the art of music. In 2009 I graduated from North Central University where I truly fell in live with music and gained a passion for learning and performing through both my education and the rich Fine Arts culture in the city of Minneapolis where I studied. Since graduating, performing professionally has been a wonderful experience and tantamount to my ongoing growth as a musician. Read More
