Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop a passion for music and be successful! I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students. Acknowledging accomplishments helps fuel a students desire to progress, and makes students eager to learn more. By trying to find out what inspires the student, I can successfully tailor my instruction to their wants and needs. I try and be an encouraging teacher while also providing constructive criticism so my studnet always feel like theyre growing in a safe environment. Read More

I have over 6 years of experience of private music lessons and have taught children anywhere from 4- 17. At age 15, I started my own freelancing private piano teacher business. It started small and locally, but I fell in love with teaching others and inspiring others with my passion of music. My teaching style is built on a foundation of encouragement and self-improvement. For a student to truly progress, he or she needs to be inspired and that's what my job is mostly about. I take great pride in being able to motivate and push students to want to get better on their own time, with the lesson time being available for learning new skills and techniques. Always being positive, even in criticism, is important to me. Read More

I like to begin each lesson with a warm up to get the mind and fingers working together. From there we will focus on building technique, musicality, and theory knowledge while focusing on cello repertoire. To end each lesson, we'll break out something fun whether that means learning a new pop song, jazz piece, or playing a cello duet. My lessons can be structured based on the students needs and meeting their long term or short term goals. Read More

I graduated from Welch College, in Nashville, TN with a Bachelor's of Music Education in 2013. I was immediately hired as an elementary music specialist for Metro Nashville Public Schools. I have taught private music lessons since 2011. After five years in public school, I decided to pursue teaching privately, full-time. Read More

For beginning folk/pop guitar students I use the Hal Leonard Guitar Method. For Classical guitar I use a combination of various resources, including Segovia scales, Sor studies, Guilianni right-hand studies and Frederick Noad method books. I definitely encourage students to work towards performance of the music they are working on, and try to schedule recital/performance opportunities as students deveope and gain mastery over their material. I always try to maintain a healthy balance between keeping the student working on music that challenges them, and advances their technique, with the need to have fun and enjoy the playing of a musical instrument as a means of entertainment and relaxation.
