I couldn't count how many students I've seen that only learn songs and later on, forget them and don't almost any knowledge from what they played. If you understand what happens "behind the curtains" of the music you like, dissect it and learn how to make something similar; that knowledge becomes part of your vocabulary and helps shape your music identity. That's what I strive to do with every student. Read More

I originally started teaching private lessons late in high school and have been teaching students ever since. I greatly enjoy the lessons I teach and it is very important to my that my student teaching enjoys them too. I have taught students with experience levels ranging from beginner to advanced, and ages ranging from kids to adults. I have had many incredible guitar teachers over the years who have inspired in many ways, and my goal is to provide the same inspiration and guidance that I have been given in the past. Read More

During my time at Belmont University, I taught music part time, as the other hours during the day were spent on class material, creating music of my own, as well as further developing methods by which to teach. Towards the end of college I took a break from teaching to focus on my career as an artist/songwriter. However, during 2021 I decided to start teaching again, which has reignited my passion for teaching and desire to spread music to others! Read More

My teaching methods for all instruments are to start with the basics and slowly build the foundation of a good, overall musician. For piano, I begin with Faber Piano Adventuresand Beginning Piano for Adultsby Bastien Bastien. With vocal instruction, I prefer to begin with vocal excrsises to strengthen the voice. Once the student is ready, we will move into repertoire like the first and second book of solos (for any range) by G. Read More

I began teaching private lessons while in college, teaching classical, electric and acoustic guitar. For the past 5 years that I have been in Nashville I have been teaching again for the last 2. I have experience in teaching students as young as 5 and as old as 65. There is no age limit on learning! Something I was always told in my lessons both, as a teenager and in college was that it is vastly more important to practice a little each day than to try and cram a marathon session into one day.
