I'm a professional bassist and i've had the good fortune to have recorded & toured internationally (US, Canada, Mexico, much of S America, much of Europe, North Africa, Russia, Australia, Caribbean, all multiple times) with a number of well-known artists, inclusive of several different styles of music. After completing both my Bachelor's and Master's degrees at that school, I continued with my doctoral studies at Cornell University. There, I continued to teach music theory and aural skills classes, and taught beginner music students the fundamentals of notation. After my graduation in 2015, I went on to become Assistant Professor of Music at the Conservatory of Ipek University, in Ankara, Turkey. Each year after that, I got a new instrument and taught myself how to play it. I got the John Phillip Sousa award for playing trumpet in my high school orchestras. I love playing music in bands and I am always consistently playing music on a daily basis. By far the greatest feeling as a teacher is that moment when the "lightbulb" turns on for the student and the idea clicks. It's an amazing feeling and to see growth happening is such a privelege. I am a third-year undergrad at NYU, studying Music Education with a concentration in instrumental performanceand I love it!
