I like to make my lessons engaging and fun. For students who are beginning their guitar journey, I like to start with the basic fundamentals of guitar, such as teaching them the body of the guitar (head stock, tuning pegs, string names, frets, how to hold and use a pick, etc.). My love for teaching began as a peer tutor in college. I tutored students in piano, guitar, bass ear training, and music theory. I began to love teaching when I noticed the change and progress it creates within people. While in college, I taught at a musical theatre camp as a music teacher. I taught music theory, ear training, and vocal music. Right after I graduated college I was accepted into the music education program at Teachers College Columbia University where I received my masters degree in music education along with certification in New York state to teach Pre-K through 12.
