My methods to teach beginning guitar are basic music reading techniques as they relate to the instrument. Teaching the fundamentals of music gives the student the ability to work on technique development. Once the fundamentals of technique and theory line up then I will begin to introduce songs and solos based on the students ability and interests. I often tell my students to just work on the first and second staff of the music so they don't overload themselves with work.
