I began giving guitar lessons around the age of 15. I was eventually hired as an instructor at GuitarWorks in Greenwood, Indiana where my teaching experience blossomed. I was able to work with five year olds to fifty year olds of all skill levels and musical interests. This greatly broadened my approach for each individual student to tailor my lessons according to their interests and goals. As I know from my own experience, an instructor can most certainly become a great influence and role model to their students. Read More

I started teaching private guitar lessons in 2018, mostly with adults. I have experience teaching pop guitar (reading lead sheets). I had the privilege of learning guitar from two guitar professors at the University of Dayton. Because of my music therapy background, I am open to teaching all levels and all abilities. I am committed to adapting/catering each lesson to the student in order to help them best achieve their goals. Read More

I am an avid music lover, performer, and teacher. I was lucky to study piano from a young age and have the amazing pre-collegiate experiences of appearing on MTV's Made and opening for the likes of McCoy Tyner, Chick Corea, and Bela Fleck. I then received a scholarship to Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA where I studied saxophone performance as well as piano, songwriting, and audio production. I then moved to San Diego, CA and opened for The Wailers, Nappy Roots, Eve 6, Steel Pulse, Shawn Colvin before touring the country. Read More

I believe in teaching music that the student wants to learn, whether that's the latest pop song or basic music theory which can be applied to any style. For my piano students, I prefer Alfred's piano curriculum. For my guitar students, I use Hal Leanord books. For my voice students, we work on whatever songs they want to learn or have assigned to them for a performance. For flute, I like Rubank method, but am open to other preferred methods as well. I am passionate about teaching music and helping others reach their full potential on whatever instruments they want to play. I am versatile and can play on almost every instrument with piano as my primary focus. When I am not teaching, I spend my time practicing, performing, and always striving to improve on any and every instrument I have available. Read More

I emphasize the importance of proper posture, technique, the ability to read music, and knowledge of the fretboard. Accordingly, I always assign students exercises meant to develop and strengthen a variety of aspects of both left-hand and right-hand technique. The pace at which we move through the exercises is dependent on the student's own level of motivation and how much practice they do. I encourage students to practice daily for at least 30 minutes, but recommend more if they wish to see more dramatic results. Read More
