In 2009, I graduated from Tianjin Conservatory of Music with a Bachelor of Arts in Keyboards Performance. Students are encouraged to pursue music in the way that will keep them engaged reaping maximum benefits whether that be to build parts of their brain that would have otherwise lie dormant, or become the best solo performer they can be. I believe the foundation of progress is consistency, so I try to establish routines with my students, spending part of each lesson on technical exercises, theory/aural skills training, and repertoire. I also set performance goals for students by organizing recitals *this has been more tricky during Covid, but I think it is important nonetheless to get students to perform from memory at least twice a year (once at the end of fall and spring terms). I have taught trial voice lessons before, as well as taken a Pedagogy class about proper technique in order to teach others! I have had a lot of experience in teaching in other ways, though, because I have worked at daycares for about 4 years of my life!
