I love playing guitar and YOU will too! The guitar is a fantastic instrument and is so much fun to play. I incorporate musical fun into my lesson as much as I can because I want students to learn how to "play" music not "work" music. I have learned from many great musicians that music is driven by passion and should be enjoyable to the performer and this is felt by the audience. Read More

Watching a student develop their playing is an incredibly gratifying experience for me as a teacher. To help encourage this,I put a great effort into connecting with the student's interests from day one. With each lesson, I work with them to set goals that are within their reach, while maintaining a relaxed, self-paced learning environment that is both fun and comfortable. My teaching style incorporates both traditional, and non-traditional techniques, all customized to meet each person's own unique needs. Read More

During my internship I was able to develop a percussion line with the students in under a month. For beginner students I will utilize either the "Alfred's Basic Piano Library" or "Faber - Hal Leonard's Piano Adventures" with the particular books selected to fit the student's age and skill level. I also enhance lessons by integrating scale pattern practice as well as exploration with simple boogie-woogie bass patterns; encouragement to sing and play where the lessons provide such an arrangement; and tinkering creating very simple melody lines and lyrics.
