I will always reinforce my lessons with method books such as William Leavitt's modern methods for guitar and reading studies, while also transcribing songs for students and creating lesson plans and diagrams for them. I always begin a lesson with having the student play a song/piece of their choice, so that they can feel confident and comfortable in their own skin and in the lesson space. For wind instruments, long tones and scales will occur at the beginning of the lesson, and will be followed by study of an etude and/or piece of repertoire. I will ask the student to sing through the piece, so that the student can make a connection with their own voice and with the music, followed by the student reading through the piece with their instrument. I became section leader for Soprano section. That job required me to perfect each individuals tone so that we blended well as a choir. I began tutoring voice major on repertoire and harmonics. I am an avid singer, voice teacher, and music director. I spend the majority of my time performing and training others to perform. I am a tenor but am capable of training all voice types. My main avenues of performance are on the recital, and musical theater stages. I just finished up a production of "Children of Eden" in which I performed as Cain.
